One of the addictive aspects of encaustic painting is the new and experimental ways artists are exploring this medium. I was delighted and intrigued by a report on a remarkable artist, Theodore Ushev, who has created the world’s first animated short film using encaustic paintings. Around 15,000 hand painted images were created for the award winning The Physics of Sorrow. Making his own paints with beeswax and pigment Theodore developed a technique that allowed him to create up to 50 pieces in a day. Such hard work, dedication and innovation is inspiring.
Really interesting, thank you.
